What Part Of Pertinent Is Mis-Understood?

dAAve left us a strong comment about his attempts to raise the Traditions as a topic at an AA meeting and being rebuffed by those who complain that the Traditions are not pertinent to their sobriety.
I feel exactly as dAAve does.
