Do You Have Anything Original To Say?
Do you? Really?
For all my “profound” friends who are forever dreaming up new/different ways to say things in meetings…
Today’s Daily Reflection hits another nail on the head!
“Many false notions operate in false pride.”
He Works Through Other People
“I thank my Higher Power for letting me know that He works through other people, and I thank Him for our trusted servants in the Fellowship who aid new members to reject their false ideals and to adopt those which lead to a life of compassion and trust. The elders in A.A. challenge the newcomers to ‘Come To’ - so that they can ‘Come to Believe.’ I ask my Higher Power to help my unbelief.”
Using your God-given talent to dream up new ways of saying something may seem to you to make you out the “big shot” in AA but the opposite is true. You’re exposing yourself as something you’re not and you’re imposing your will on others. In the name of what? Your ego. Simple.
You are neither original or profound.

I have enough trouble trying to remember what I already know WITHOUT coming up with new stuff.
