Ham On Wry 1989
From The Grapevine, Ham On Wry, Vol. 46 Issue 1 June 1989;
OVERHEARD AT A MEETING: “For me,” said Joe of Manhattan, “a meeting is like a spiritual dialysis machine: I come, I plug in, and when I leave I’ve filtered out a lot of the poison that’s built up since the last meeting.”
Also overheard in Manhattan, at the Renewal West Group: “My father was such a drunk that when we buried him we put a full bottle of gin in his casket, just in case. Now, to show you what kind of a drunk I am, there were a number of times when I thought about digging him up!”
How many of you can identify with that?
