Here’s A Line of You Know What
Hey, our friend JJ is having some difficulties and isn’t happy. I understand and I’d say that the majority of us also understand! JJ is two years sober. I’m years past that number yet I’m not always happy either and I’m living a miracle!
So, the point. No one has said this to JJ yet and I truly hope they don’t but I have heard this inanity/insanity (take your pick) in meetings - if you’re not happy, you’re doing something wrong.
Equine Excrement!!!
I don’t know what you’ll do with that info if you hear it in a meeting but when I hear it, I pay attention to the newcomers and if they’ve bought into that cr*p I’ll do whatever I can to offer a different solution. I’ll also attempt to understand the one who said it. I may even ask why. I’ve done that and the results didn’t make me any happier, lol…
If you’re not happy it is MHO that you are exactly where you’re supposed to be.
“I can find no serenity unless I accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing, happens in God’s world by mistake.”
JJ, please, please, whatever lesson you are about to learn, learn it well so you don’t go through this suffering again.
A Sober, Clean Evening To All,
Mark

Seems like a take one step forward and someone pushes (but it is more like a kick) me back two steps. I am really trying to control what I can control and let the rest go but man oh man it is hard. Really hard.
I have no intentions of posting about what is going on - it really is extremely personal and very hard for me to type/write about it. Maybe I’ll e-mail you and tell you about it.
I see you,
JJ

One step forward and two back eh? Sounds like early recovery to me :-)
I wouldn’t suggest you post about it either. What I would suggest is you getting together with some long time sober women in your home group or somewhere close to you. And, by long time sober I mean 20-30 years.
I doubt I’d be the one to have the answer. We know almost nothing about each other. The ladies that know you really would be the right folks to seek counsel with…
At any rate, if you don’t drink, don’t use and don’t die, this will end when it is supposed to and you’ll be sober. That is the exercise, no matter what! Whatever it takes.
One last thing, when I went through times like these I absolutely hated them out freakin’ loud!!! But the lessons I learned from them are life savers today.
It gets better, trust me,
Mark
