Insuring Continuity
First Things First… I apologize, though it has been out of my hands, to all, including the folks at b5, for the lack of posting this month. In addition to my personal challenges, Comcast has presented us with another challenge almost impossible to overcome. As I write I have to keep an eye on our modem as our connection comes and goes on a moment to moment basis. True tolerance, specifically for this, is nonexistent because they tell us they are doing some work in our area. Well, they’ve been doing this work for over a week. Perhaps they need new workers…
“It” is, to me, the program of recovery as written in the Big Book and the 12 & 12. As well as I can, I pass “it” on the way “it” was given to me. “It” may work for you, “it” may not, but I pass “it” on the same way I received “it.”
Which leads me to today’s reading;
“The only thing that matters is that he is an alcoholic who has found a key to sobriety.”
There “it” is! We carry the key!
“The strength of Alcoholics Anonymous lies in the desire of each member and of each group around the world to share with other alcoholics their suffering and the steps taken to gain, and maintain, recovery.”
Reality? Many come and hang around who don’t share this desire or, worse, don’t understand this desire. It is my responsibility, and ours, to help them understand because the lives of those to come are at stake.
“I make sure that I always nurture my desire to help other alcoholics, thus insuring the continuity of the wonderful fraternity of Alcoholics Anonymous.”
