This post is worthy of repetition. It recently came to the attention of a number of us that a gal in New York with 19 years clean in NA is “back out there.” She is loved by many, and knowing that she’s killing herself is being felt by those she helped. As yet, none of […]

I AM YOUR DISEASE
I hate meetings.
I hate Higher Power.
I hate anyone who has a Twelve Step program.
To all who come in contact with me,
I wish you death and I […]

Bill W’s thoughts, which were later published in “The Language of the Heart: Bill W’s Grapevine Writings” about AA’s Third Legacy.
Feels important enough to continue to pass on with the hope that the passing on will continue… :)
“We, who are the older members of A.A., bequeath to you who are younger, these three Legacies - […]

With a hat tip to Syd who has this link in his Blogroll which he had titled “Codependency and Alcoholism”
Alcoholism and Its Effect on the Family
Something I can immediately identify with… something that, for all practical means and purposes, defines me and then defines my children too.
Here’s what I can pick out of the article […]

I can… I lived this also. Many of “us” have.
Many of us found that we had several characteristics in common as a result of being brought up in an alcoholic or other dysfunctional households.
We had come to feel isolated, and uneasy with other people, especially authority figures. To protect ourselves, we became people pleasers, even […]
